↪When light coming from a star enters the earth's atmosphere,it undergoes atmospheric refraction on account of varying optical density of air at different heights. The continuously changing atmosphere refracts the light from a star by different amounts at different moments..↩

As we all know that stars Twinkle, this is because of the refraction of light in different directions.

Due to the refraction of light , the brightness of the stars keeps changing , and the difference in brightness of the stars in some specific time is basically termed as twinke .

actually, stars doesn't twinkle . when we see from the earth's surface it seems that the stars are twinkling and it seems because of the atmosphere and the refraction of light.
