The stars twinkle due to the following reason:

Explanation:

  • The reason for twinkling of the stars because of the effect of the atmosphere.
  • When the light of the star enters into the atmosphere the light get affected by the winds present in the atmosphere.
  • The wind is a mixture of gases that are of different densities and temperatures.
  • These gases causes the light coming from the star to refract and the star appears to be twinkling if we observe it from ground. It is observed that the star appear to be shifting it's position due to constant refraction of light coming from the star.
