Animals and vegetation vary from place to place due to the availability of resources.

Explanation:

  • As landmass and oceans are not itself equally distributed over the world, the distribution of animals and plants is in association with the movement and formation of plate tectonics the plate tectonics is associated with the formation of the interior structure of the planet as the core, mantle, and crust.
  • Plants are less mobile as compared to animals and thus some similarities are found while animals are more active and mobile in terms of distribution as they move by running, jumping, hopping, and climbing. In plants, the distribution is by air, water, and deliberate or human-induced.
  • The characteristics of lands ie nature of the soil, climate and physical features like mountains, plateaus, and plains regions have different environments.
  • Thus have different diversity of species. Places like deserts have those species that have adapted to the natural surroundings and those that live in mountains also.
