Why do the colour & solution of
copper sulphate change when
We take a solution of
copper
sulphate in a beaker and
put an iron nail in it?​

When the iron nail is dipped:-

Then , the blue colour of copper sulphate changes to green colour.

This is because iron is more reactive than copper.

So the iron displaces out copper.

Also we can see that earlier Iron nail was silver in color.

The following shows the reaction taken as:-

CuSO4 +Fe ==> FeSO4 + Cu

CuSO4 is copper Sulphate

Fe is Iron commonly called Ferrous

FeSO4 is Iron sulphate

And also , Cu is copper.

The change in colour takes place from blue to green.

The Iron nail colour changes from silver to red.
