why do the crops grown in sandy soil need more frequent irrigation than crops grown in clayey soil

Answer:

because sandy soil is not capable of holding water , where as clayey soil can retain alot of water hence sandy soil needs frequent irrigation

1.The clayey soil can have a greater capacity to hold water and henceforth they don't require frequent irrigation.

2.And because due to the structure of sandy soil it has less capacity to hold water and therefore it requires more frequent irrigation than that of its required for clayey soil
