The drains on lots of rivers have gradually lost their own water storage capacity in the present day. The reason behind this is:
- Eroding - Water storage capacity in drains has been lost due to eroding. Also, the accumulation of slits due to mining, dust, soil erosion, debris, etc. is one of the reasons.
- Accumulation of Lands -The land for water bodies including rivers is dumped each and every day to build industries and commercial houses. Also, water is polluted due to those activities.
- Unplanned Dam and reservoir Making- Nowadays lots of dams and reservoirs are made due to hydropower plants, flood control, etc. For those not only drains of rivers have gradually lost, but also this is the reason of destruction of fish habitats and ecosystems
