why do the electrons in the correct wire move in a specified direction after connecting a battery

Because pure copper moves from positive to negative electrode.

The conductor wire has free electrons which are moving randomly in conductor when no battery is connected.but when we connect a battery ,an electric field is applied and according to coulamb' s law opposite charges attract each other and similar charges repel each other…so the negative charged electrons get attracted ...
