Why do the Electrostaic field lines never form closed loops?

The Electrostaic field lines originate from positive charge and end at the negative charge. As the isolated positive charge and negative charge do exist, the Electrostaic field lines do not form closed loops.

On the other hand the magnetic field lines are always closed loops. It is because, isolated magnetic poles do not exist.
