why do the electrostatic field lines not form the closed loop

this is not possible because, If the electric field lines form closed loops, then these lines must originate and terminate on the same charge which is not possible.

Because electric field lines always moves from positive to negative and it do not able to move negative to positive. So electric field lines do not form loop.

Hope it help.
