Answers
"1. Laterite soil is formed by crushing of rock, it is also called as rock type soil. It is usually red in colour due to rich in Iron content. These type of soil are found under the parent rock. The amount of aluminium present in the soil is also higher.
2. Humus content is nothing, but the organic matter that are present in the soil which is helpful for the growth of the plant. The decay of fruits, vegetables peelings, and dead animals in coarse of time may become nutrition rich Humus.
3. The temperature in equatorial region is moderate. This temperature is suitable for the vegetation to grow. The soil fertility is high and this soil retain water for a very long period of time. Hence, the formation of soil process is fast in equatorial region.
4. As the usage of chemicals and compounds have increased around the ages, the salinity of the soil have also increased which results in less yield in agriculture and also results in soil erosion.
5. When there is enough land of same type of soil to cultivate, only particular crops grow accordingly. For Konkan, rice was the crop they could grow and also rice can be grown at a large amount during the cultivation period.
6. It generally arises at the bank of river, thus when river flows it erodes the soil. But in the landmass, when there is deforestation then there will be soil erosion.
7. Over a continuous usage of land for cultivation, results in high usage of nutrients in it. This will eventually results in degradation."
