Hi,
because we can Compress it in high quantity and amount compare to liquid or solid, after Compressing in a container gases tries to expand (If we put water in an container, there will be the limited amount of water will go inside it Example- If there is 1 Liter of container so there will be only space for 1 Liter of water) Instead of water gases (In Atmosphere) Covers more space then compare to water also we pressurise it to put gas into container after putting it in container gases tries to expand itself to get it's area as it is in Atmosphere.

Hope it helped.!
