why do the gases exert more pressureon the walls of the container than solids?

Gas particles have negligible interparticle attraction and large interparticle space,making them more mobile. Thus more particles hit the walls of the container,exerting more pressure. As particles of solids are not as free ro move,they do not exert that much pressure.
