Why do the marker pens need to be water soluble?

Explanation:

=>Water based markers take longer to dry than the alcohol versions. Direct application of layers one after another can result in the paper piling up and tearing as water saturates it. In addition, they don't produce permanent ink which makes them more ideal for school use..

ANSWER:

If a marker adheres to most surfaces and/or is water resistant, it is considered a permanent marker.
How effectively a marking resists fading is determined by the dyes or pigments used to give the ink colour (colourants), and the formulation of the ink offers it persistent qualities.

EXPLANATION:

The drying time of water-based markers is longer than that of alcohol-based ones.
Water markers are ideal for water colouring since they include water-soluble ink.

You can either add colour and make it darker (once the paper is dry) or add water since water markers can be reactivated after they have dried (and remove some of the ink with a paper towel).
An ink with a less-staining colour that quickly washes out of materials and off of skin is used in a washable water-based marker.

While these ink colours are practical for schoolchildren, they are inappropriate for calligraphers and professional and amateur painters. Smaller ink is used in washable markers.
