Why do the offspring of sexually reproducing organisms are similar to their parents but not identical to them?

➡️ In sexual reproduction, the offspring are although similar to their parents, are not identical to them or to one another. This is because the offering receive some genes from the mother and some from the father. Due to this mixing of genes, all the offering have genetic variations and hence they are not identical to their parents

because when the DNA from the male and female meet it gets altered making a new DNA strand with a bit of both of the parents
