The basic reason why planet revolve around is that the gravity of the Sun keeps them in their orbit. Just as the moon orbits the earth because of the pull of earth's Gravity.

planet moves to form day and night and Seasons they move around the sun the part of the planet which face the sun feel day day and the part of of the planet which does not face the sun feel night as same is of seasons the part of the planet which face the sun have summer and the part which does not face the sun have winter
