Why do the prophecies of the Spirits give Macbeth a false sense of security?

In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the witches lull Macbeth into a false sense of security by basically letting him think that there will be no consequences for his actions. He will never be punished, or caught, or defeated, they imply in their prophecies. He already trusts the witches, and so chooses to ignore that all-important word "until." They don't say "never" they say "until." Of course, Macbeth's perception of the likelihood of the events outlined in the "until" speech would be very dim anyway - he would think forests never move and every man is "born" of woman.
