The measures of the act 1956 introduced by sinhales govt. made the sri Lankan Tamils feel alienated .
1 . they felt that one of the major political parties led by the buddhist Sinhalese were sensitive only to their culture and language .
2. they also felt that the constitutions and govt. policies denied them equal political right .
3.thus , they realised that govt. has discriminate against getting them in other jobs and other opportunities bn by ignoring their interest .
4. As a rest ,the realisation between the Sinhalese and Tamil communities strained over time.
Hope it helps....☺☺☺

Because there is majoritarianism in the country.
The Sinhalas are in majority as compared to the Srilankan Tamils. So there is differentiation between the two groups considering Sri Lankan Tamils are a minority. Hence they feel alienated.
