Streams dissappear in desert because of the high rate of evaporation and also because of the high rate of infiltration. Evaporation process is too fast because as we all know desert is a hot area as rate of sunlight is maximum that's why rate of evaporation is also gets faster. Infiltration also gets faster because sand particles are too far and bigger.
