deciduous plants lose their leaves to conserve water or to better survive winter weather conditions, they must regrow new foliage duringthe next suitable growing season; this uses resources which evergreens donot need to expend.

Deciduous forests shed their leaves at the same time to conserve water in summer season as the leaves do transpiration and let the water to evaporat to stop this forests shed their leaves...
