why do the trees of the tropical deciduous forests shed their leaves in dry summer?

because summer are mostly dry and hot and trees they do not get excess water for transportation and to stop transpiration ( loss of water ) they shade there leaves in summer

trees of tropical deciduous forest shed their leaves to retain water and moisture for longer period of time by slowing down rate of transpiration. In transpiration water vapors are given out through pores of leaves.
