The function of platelets is to clot the blood at the time of injury and to prevent blood loss.

At this time the soluble fibrin forms a mesh like structure in which platelets are trapped and form the platelet plug.

At this time any bacteria/virus can easily enter into our body through the site of injury so to kill those bacteria or viruses the WBCs arise at the site along with platelets.

WBCs releases the antibodies to kill the pathogens which can cause diseases.
