Why do toxic insecticidal proteins secreted by bacillus thuringiensis kill the insect and not the bacteria itself?

The Toxins are released by the Bacteria in thei INACTIVE form , which become active due to the alkaline environment in the gut of insects and thus cause intestinal perforation and Donot Harm the bacteria itself.
