Why do trees not catch fire on their own when wood is combustible and there is sufficient oxygen in the air?

wood is a good conductor of heat but trees don't catch fire in their own due to the metabolic activity in which transport of water in wood of trees takes place so because of this the tree wood will not catch fire ...
