In Venus planet the sun was not hidden but it's a poet imagination story which makes and tells that sun is hidden.

This story is set on planet Venus which has a total different atmosphere and weather patterns than on earth. Even though in reality venus is a hot planet and is hotter than earth, the author has imagined it to be a planet with rains for continuous 7 years.
This is a sci fi and a fictional story. So I guess maybe the sun is hidden behind the dark loaded nimbus clouds which cause the constant thunder, lightning and storms. Once the clouds are satisfied somehow, the sun comes our for an hour and disappears again.

In venus there is constant rainfall for 7 years.. there are storms, thunder and lightning almost everytime...the rain drops fall heavily with a loud sound. It rains so much that Margot was so angry to even take shower ......due to the rains the children had never known the joy of playing in the sun
even though it rained very heavy, the thrashed trees grew again and again in the forest....It would get thrashed due to rain but would grow again
