why do unsaturated hydrocarbons give addition reactions ? explain it with the help of example

They are more reactive due to the presence of electrons in the triple bond or the double bond and therefore undergo addition reaction.
Ex: C2H4 + Br2 → C2H4Br2
In the above example bromine is added to ethene shows that it undergoes addition reaction.
