Ventricles have thick muscular walls than atrium because the blood from various parts of body comes directly to ventricles so it creates a high blood pressure so in order to compensate the blood pressure ventricles have muscular walls.
Also the atrium only receive blood, but ventricles have to pump blood to various parts of the body.
