Why do ventricles have valves?

The heart consists of four chambers, two atria (upper chambers) and twoventricles (lower chambers). There is avalve through which blood passes before leaving each chamber of the heart. The valves prevent the backward flow of blood. ... aortic valve: located between the left ventricle and the aorta.

\boxed{Ahoy Matey!!!}

** the valves normally allows blood to flow in one direction through the heart

**the valves open or close incumbent on differential blood pressure on each side

**the tricuspid valve controls blood flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle

**the valves prevent back flow of blood in the ventricles

As the ventricles start to contract, the ventricular pressure soon exceeds the atrial pressure, causing the atrioventricular valves to close. As the ventricles continue to contract, the ventricular pressure exceeds the arterial pressure causing the semilunar valves to open. these valves are one way valves. Tricuspid valve guards the right auriculoventrivular aperture and mitral valve or bicuspid valve guards the left atrioventricular aperture.

**if the valves are absent in ventricles the blood flows in unidirection and flows backward tooo

** bulging of veins may take place
