Why do we apply force to the handle of the door?​

We apply force always on the handle of the door because value of torque is more. That is, if we try to push the door from nearer to hinge of it, it won't be as easy as it is to open while holding the handle as torque is almost 0. (T=R*F)

(larger force generates a larger torque)
