Iron articles are painted to prevent them from rusting. After painting iron surface does not come in contact with moisture and air which cause rusting.A reddish brown colour is deposited on its surface called a s rust; which damaged the iron article. Hence, to prevent such rusting we apply paint the iron articles.

• Iron articles when exposed to air, react with oxygen and moisture in air. As a result, rusting takes place in which the metal deteriorates.
• To prevent this rusting and deterioration of iron, we have to apply pain and articles.
