because iron get rust easily in presence of oxygen and moisture so paint will prevent it from rusting or prevent it from Direct contact with moisture and oxygen.

Iron articles when exposed to air,reacts with oxygen and moisture in air . As a result rusting takes place , in which the metal deteriorates.
To prevent this rusting and deceleration of iron. We have to apply paint to iron articles.
