why do we apply paint on iron articles?

the paint is an antirusting material which when applied on iron , it avoids iron articles to come in contact with moisture in the air.....the moisture may cause rusting of iron...so paint prevents them from undergoing rusting...

When iron articles are exposed to air, the react with moisture and chemicals to from rust. This rust corrodes the iron particles. So, by applying paint ,iron surface will no longer be exposed to air and rusting will be prevented
