Why do we blow air at a burning fire

We blow air at burning fire in order to provide friction to burning things and to provide more sir to it also.

We blow air at a burning fire. It is because air contains Oxygen which helps in the burning and loud blow can extinguish fire. Sand is thrown over the fire to extinguish fire as it cuts off the supply of air.
