Lysosomes are known as digestive/suicidal/garbage-disposal bags as they can have digestive enzymes that are helpful for removing waste products from the cell. Also, if any organelle is damaged, the lysosomes digest that organelle. They can even digest the whole cell if damages are many. Lysosomes are capable of digesting nucleic acid, polysaccharides, fats, and proteins. Along with them lysosomes also digest or damage its own cells by its own enzymes, which lead to cell death. This process is called as autolysis.
Hope it helps :)

Because their digestive enzymes can digest any cell organelles or the whole cell when the situation so demand. The remove cell debris consisting of dead and worn out cell organelles by digesting them.
