why do we call our country federal nation

It's too simple. Because our countries runs on different tiers or we can say it is run by different levels of government where no government can interfere in others working i.e., central government can't interfere with working of state and state can't do the same to central's working.
We can also say that the power is equally shared between different levels of government.
