A successful harvest means a great deal to farmers across India- they spend the whole year for a good harvest. So when they actually do, they express their happiness and gratefulness through harvest festivals like baisakhi.

hope this helps

cheers ✌️✌️

We celebrate the harvest festival because:

  • Harvest celebrations are events held during a region's prime harvest season.
  • Due to differences in climate and the staple crop of each region, each of India's 29 states celebrates its harvest festival at a different time throughout the year.
  • The names and locations of Bihu, Pongal, Makara Sankranti, and Lohri are different, but the attitude is the same: appreciation for a bountiful crop.
  • A huge portion of the Indian population works in agriculture.
  • They are overjoyed at the first harvest of their new crop.
  • Farmers have a great time, and city dwellers do as well, though in slightly different ways.
