The method of placing organisms into groups or subgroups on the basics of similarities and differences are called classification
There are millions of life forms and we can not look at them one by one. Instead we look for similarities among the organisms which will allow us to put them into different classes and then study different classes or groups as a whole. Thus it becomes easier to study such a large group of organisms by simply classifying them.
