Why do we cover plug pin holes which are within the reach of children with cello tape or a plastic cover when not in use

Because children unaware of the consequences of playing around with sockets may insert some conductor into the socket which is fatal.And hence it is advised to cover the sockets that are not in use.

We cover plug pin holes which are within the reach of children because The current flows into the plug may harm children

And we cover it with plastic because plastics are the bad conductor of electricity.
