why do we cover plug pins also which are within the reach of the children with cellotape or a plastic cover when not in use​.​

We use plastic tape or some other plastic objects to cover the plugs pin because they are poor conductor of electricity. it is as such as children, especially the one with age 2 and above have a habit to poke their finger into objects which curious them.

Answer : Because plastic is a poor conductor of electricity and when we cover  pins or plugs with plastic electricity doesn't flow through them which can harm the  children.
