The equator, parallels of latitudes and the meridians of longitudes are the imaginary lines that can be seen only on the maps or globes of the earth.
Actually, these imaginary lines are drawn for pointing the exact location of the places, mountains and rivers on the earth’s surface, which becomes easier with the presence of these contour lines on the maps.
The distances between various geographical locations are also more easily measured by calculating the degrees of these imaginary latitudes and longitudes.
