why do we fall back when a bus starts suddenly

 Newtons first law, "an object in rest tends to remain in rest unless acted upon by another force". This means, that as the best suddenly moves, your body still tends to remain at rest so when the bus is moving fordward you are still staying still, so you move back as the bus starts
