Why do we fall in the forward direction when a moving bus suddenly stops and fall backwards,when it accelerates from rest?

It is due to inertia .Inertia is the inability of the object to change it's state of rest or of uniform motion in both the condition our body in the bus is influenced by inertia hence while stopping the bus we move forward and while starting from rest we move backward but soon we will come to normal state
