why do we find thorny bushes in the desert?

we find thorny bushes in desert as they are suitable for the climatic conditions there and can survive . in desert due to much heat , the water gets evaporated and less water is available , these bushes have a wax layer which is very essential as the evaporation of water  is not much and their root penetrate deep inside the soil to take water .....
