Hot bowl of soup undergoes evaporation of water and the cool plate on top acts as barrier for it that converts vapours into droplets. That's why we can observe a lot of droplets on the plate.

Hi frnd,
This happens because water vapour will be formed inside and when it is formed it has no space to occupy..so,it gets accumalated in the form of water droplets(i.e. condensation takes place. And so we find droplets of water on the underside of the plate that is put on hot bowl or soup.
hope this helps u...^_^
