The oxygen in our body gets used up which are stored in the muscles when we do exercise. The supply of oxygen is not sufficient in the muscles for doing exercise. So, we get cramps on heavy exercising.

we get cramps on heavy exercising because all the stored oxygen in the muscles get used up and the supply of the oxygen to cells decreases
