due to the formation of lactic acid due to anerobic respiration during a heavy exercise.

This is beacuse when we do heavy exercises our muscles requires more energy , which we get by the process of respiration and for that oxygen is required. When our respiratory organ is failed to supply the sufficient amount of oxygen then the part of the body which requires energy i.e. muscles form lactic acid over there. And untill the action of lactic acid is not over we get pain . And after a while automatically we get relief.
