The different shapes of the same object depend upon the direction of the source of light. If the source of light is below, we get a longer shadown, if its above, we get shorter shadow and when the source of light i right above the head, then, the shadow is the smallest

- Light travels in a straight line. The shadows of any object is formed when this path of light is obstructed by an object.
- When the light falls directly on the object in a vertically straight line, a small or sometimes, no shadow is formed.
- However, when the falls in a slanting way on any object, tall or short shadow is formed depending upon the direction of light and placement of the object and its characteristics ( like transparent, translucent or opaque.
- Therefore, we get shadows of different shapes of same object.
