after having a heavy exercise due to lack of oxygen in blood muscles cells start Respirating anaerobically producing Lactic acid which causes pain(muscular cramps)

Because during vigorous exercises we need a lot of energy and for the production of energy a good supply of oxygen is required when the oxygen requirement is not fulfilled our muscles get energy through anaerobic respiration in muscles which leads to the formation of lactic acid in muscles which causes cramps
