units are used to measure magnitude of physical quantities
the are different unit system like
CGS - centimeter,gram, second
MKS - meter, kilogrammes,second
SI - it is derived from MKS system bt there r few alterations....
hence u find different units fr same physical quantity
for eg: force = N or kgms^-2......u can express them in cgs also by converting SI to cgs
