We can hear an echo far away from us because the distance is more from the object from where the sound is propagating and the minimum distance required to listen an echo is 17 meter . That's why we can't hear an echo if we stand away from a wall and shout towards it.

Explanation:

In open areas we are not able to hear the echo because the sound will not get any medium to collid and come back.......... Thus , because of this the echo is heard....

If we stand away from a wall or shout towards it , we will not be able to hear the echo....

It is so because , the sound collides and comes back....

Thus , the echo is not heard.......

MORE INFORMATION:-

To calculate the distance between two objects ;

during echo , the formula is :-

2d = V × T

When echo is not there , then ,

d = V × T

here ,

  • d is the distance
  • V is the velocity or the speed of the object....
  • T is the time....
