Aerobic respiration is more energy efficient.

Explanation:

  • Aerobic and anaerobic respiration each has its own advantages under specific conditions. Aerobic respiration produces far more energy, but risks exposure to oxygen toxicity. Anaerobic respiration is less energy-efficient, but allows endurance in habitats which lack oxygen
  • Humans do have aerobic respiration with the exception of our muscles which form lactic acid in deficit of oxygen.
  • In anaerobic energy is produced without presence of oxygen. For example: yeast produce energy without presence of oxygen.
